If you have volunteered to take 笔记 for a student with a disability, this page will help you understand this accommodation, and will explain some alternatives for exchanging 笔记.

First of all, we want to thank you for your time! The note taking process is not meant to be cumbersome – if you think that you are fairly organized and do a good job with 注意,我们需要你的帮助!  We will work with you to make the exchange process as easy 尽可能。. If requested, after a successful quarter of volunteer note taking, Student 访问 服务 can provide you with a letter of recommendation.

Volunteer note takers are not asked to take 笔记 in a certain format or to change 他们记笔记的方式.  学生 with disabilities continue to take their own 笔记.  However, some disabilities mean that a student may have difficulty attending to a lecture and taking 笔记 in the same way their peers do. 例如,一个学生 a hearing impairment may rely on lip-reading to an extent – so they can’t watch a professor’s face and take comprehensive 笔记 at the same time.  其他学生可以 have mobility issues effecting hand functions; they may have visual tracking difficulties, or auditory processing difficulties – all of these disabilities mean that a student is not at the same “level playing field” when it comes to taking 笔记.

If the student for whom you have volunteered to take 笔记 does NOT require anonymity:
  • You will be introduced to the student and can talk about the best way to get copies 你给他们的笔记. If you take 笔记 using a laptop or tablet, it could be a simple matter of emailing these to the student after class.
  • If you prefer to hand-write 笔记, the 学生查阅服务 can assist in these 方法:
    • You can bring your 笔记 after class or the next day to the 学生查阅服务  (Wenatchi Hall 2131), and use the scanner to scan and email your 笔记 to the student.
    • We can supply you with pressure-carbon paper at no cost; you take 笔记 as you normally would, and tear out either the pressure-carbon copy, or the original, and leave this 和学生一起.
  • If you prefer to handwrite your 笔记, and have your own scanner, you can scan and 你自己给他们发邮件.
  • You can also post your 笔记 on One Drive, or another accessible site and share the documents 和学生一起 with a disability.
  • You might come up with another creative way to exchange 笔记 – if it works and it’s 很简单,很好!!

 

If the student for whom you have volunteered to take 笔记 wants to remain anonymous 记录员说:
  • If you take 笔记 using a laptop or tablet, you can email those to Student 访问 服务(sas@joyerianicaragua.com) and we will forward them to the student. 另外,与 professor's permission, you can email 笔记 to the professor, to email to the student.
  • If you prefer to hand-write 笔记, 学生查阅服务 can assist in these 方法:
    • You can bring your 笔记 after class or the next day to Student 访问 in Wenatchi Hall 2131, and use the scanner to scan and email your 笔记 to our office, and we will send them on to the student.
    • We can supply you with pressure-carbon paper at no cost; you take 笔记 as you normally would, and tear out either the pressure-carbon copy, or the original, and leave this with the professor to give to the student. If the professor doesn’t find it easy to pass along the 笔记 without compromising the student’s anonymity, you can drop them off in our office in 皇冠8868会员登录 Hall 2131 and we will supply them to the student.
  • If you prefer to handwrite your 笔记, and have your own scanner, you can also scan 然后发邮件给我们.
  • You can post your 笔记 on One Drive, or another accessible site and provide log-in details to us, to pass on to the student with a disability.
  • You might come up with another creative way to exchange 笔记 – if it works and it’s 很简单,很好!!
